Air Separation Product Manager - Pittsburgh, PA

My client has just been listed as one of Pittsburgh's fastest-growing, privately-held companies for a 3rd straight year and are in need of an experienced Engineering Manager for their Export, PA headquarters. They offer oil-free centrifugal compressors that best fit smaller, "point of use" air separation facilities. These compressors can be equipped with a variety of control options such as variable inlet guide vanes and mass flow control to meet the demanding requirements of any application. As such, my client has earned the reputation as "The Leader in Engineered Air."

This Product Manager will be responsible for doubling the revenue of their industrial gases business within the next 3-4 years by validating the market, speaking with customers, and producing a business plan that addresses their aggressive pursuit of this industry. This is truly a growth opportunity as this high-profile role is expected to build a business in what has largely been a fringe focus for my client. While specific air separation experience is strongly preferred a background with industrial machinery, compressors, and/or rotating equipment is a must!

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Product Planning - Must have experience writing and executing product plans that align with organization's overall strategic plan.
  • Participate in requirements generation and elaboration upstream and sales training, support, and collateral downstream
  • Customer Focus - Extensive customer face-time including hosting focus groups and understand customer needs by spending time with their engineers and procurement
  • Must have experience managing products globally
  • 7-15 years of industrial product management experience - air and gases (air filtration/air handling), rotating equipment-motors/turbines, compressors are all of interest
  • Ability to lead a company into a new market
  • Demonstrable experience with the following core competencies; Customer Orientation (both internal and external), Drive For Results (No Excuses!), Financial Acumen (P&L responsibility), Leadership (leading and motivating employees)

Education:

  • Ideally an undergraduate degree in engineering plus a MBA
