Amazing start-up opportunity for a 3D Developer. Be the 3rd person in with major equity stake!

My client is a Pittsburgh-based startup who has created a distributed fabrication service that connects buyers who need digital fabrication (3D printing, laser cutting/etching, etc.) to the sellers who have the capacity. They have had numerous articles written about the company and are set to launch a brand new product in just a matter of days!

They're in a current $1.5B industry projected to grow up to $125B in just the next few years and are particularly well positioned as the most progressive company in this space! They are in urgent need to bring on a full-time employee that will essentially be the Chief Software Architect for the organization. You'll be the company's third employee, joining the two founders, and will have a major equity piece in the organization.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a real 3D development subject-matter expert in everything from 3D generative art to computational geometry including parametric and mesh file creation/manipulation. You must have solid 3D design/drafting experience and any product/industrial/package design experience would be a big plus. Your role, initially, will be to develop a Software Design Kit that will allow general audiences to produce custom physical products via 3D equipment. You'll be creating this from scratch so knowledge in how to build the kit is an absolute MUST.

As the company grows you will assemble a team of software design engineers to keep the product current and fresh thereby helping to launch the company into new commercial markets.

You must be fluent in general web development (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and preferably Ruby/Rails) and have strong coding skills with C/C++ and Flash/Actionscript. You should be familiar with open source SW and HW and a strong understanding of social platforms. Of course experience with development of CAD/CAM/Physical Simulation software is a big plus.

As you'll be the 3rd employee in a startup the hours are long but the end reward may be great!

This company has been around for 2 years and is creating a real buzz in the industry, particularly with their upcoming product launch. If you have the desire and skills needed to take on this unique opportunity please call me at 412-920-0448 or by email at keith@hireforyou.com to discuss.
